I can say that there is more functionality than simple volume and pan, such as transport with jog wheel and display, scribble strip text and more. It is true that the X-TOUCH in Mackie Control mode in Logic provides greater functionality than HUI in Pro Tools, but this 100% due to Pro Tools being limited to the older HUI protocol.
